How to Care for Sculpture and Fossil Study Pieces

Resin and plaster study pieces are easiest to keep clean with a soft dry cloth. Dust them regularly before dirt builds up in sculpted detail, and avoid wet cloths or household cleaners that can change the surface finish.

Keep decorative sculpture away from strong direct sunlight and damp areas. Rapid temperature changes can affect old-looking finishes, while sunlight may fade darker pigments over time. When moving a tall piece, hold the base rather than a narrow part such as a head or wing.

For shelves and consoles, use a non-slip pad under heavy sculpture. If a small chip appears, keep the fragment and contact the studio before attempting a repair.
